This insectivore plant in the late 1800's was used by the Micmac native Americans of Nova Scotia as a botanical-based remedy for multiple purposes. Since then it was forgotten & then re-discovered. Sarracenia Purpurea ssp. purpurea, is commonly called the "Northern Pitcher Plant", "Purple Pitcher Plant", or "Smallpox Plant". Native to North America, these bog-loving plants grow in thin nutrient-deficient soils. They absorb nutrients from their prey to supplement those lacking in the soil to thrive. Sarracenia Purpurea grows along the Eastern seaboard, Great Lakes region, Alaska, Washington & Canada. Our Sarracenia is double extracted and made with all parts of the fresh live plant from the leaf to the root! Wildcrafted by us in the pristine areas of Northern USA.
